Rudolf Carnap’s Later Diaries. Workshop at the Institute Vienna Circle, July 8 2024
Rudolf Carnap (1891-1970) kept a diary for more than six decades, between 1908 and 1970. The collection of over 4,000 pages of shorthand material has been systematically transcribed and edited since 2015. The entire text material is currently available online, two volumes dedicated to Carnap's time in Europe (1908-1935) were published in 2022, the third volume on his time in Chicago (1936-1952) is in preparation and is due to be published in 2026. This workshop combines a working report by the editorial team with presentations by experts whose research is related to Carnap's diaries.
