The 18th conference of the Middle European master's programme in Cognitive Science (MEi:CogSci) took place at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics of Comenius University Bratislava from the 13th to the 15th of June 2024. This conference is designed as a platform for spreading and networking interdisciplinary research in cognitive science among the students of the four MEi:CogSci partner universities: Comenius University Bratislava (Slovakia), Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest (Hungary), University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and University of Vienna (Austria).
The "Proceedings of the MEi:CogSci Conference" is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal, providing a quality platform for original work by students/participants from all partner universities of the international Middle European interdisciplinary master's programme in Cognitive Science (https://www.meicogsci.eu/). All submissions to this journal are extended abstracts, submitted alongside either a poster or oral presentation for the MEi:CogSci Conference.
Articles range across the entire scope of cognitive science, touching on aspects of anthropology, artificial intelligence, economics, education science, linguistics, neuroscience, philosophy, and psychology. The journal provides a platform for interaction between young cognitive scientists with backgrounds in these fields, as well as others ranging from fine arts, economy, to engineering and maths. As a result, the journal publishes in all areas of cognitive science, covering a wide range of phenomena and offering a heterogeneous set of methodologies.
