Werkstatt Phänomenologie 21/06: James Dodd

We are very excited to invite you to a special session of Werkstatt Phänomenologie, in collaboration with the University of Vienna’s Phänomenologische Forschung group.

Our speaker of this session is Prof. James Dodd, professor of philosophy at The New School (NYC). In his talk "The Meaning of History", James will present some of the key arguments of his new book "The Heresies of Jan Patočka. Phenomenology, History, and Politics" (Northwestern University Press 2023). James' talk as well as chapters 3 and 4 of the book – as background reading – can be requested via leyla.sophie.gleissner@univie.ac.at.

The talk will be followed by a detailed comment by Dr. Sandra Lehmann, deputy head of the Institut für Interkulturelle Religionsphilosophie (University of Vienna). Sandra Lehmann's works on Patočka include (selection) "Der Horizont der Freiheit.
